29th January: Australian U21 Speedway Championship

Taylor has won the 2012 Australian U21 Speedway Championship. He showed skill and determination to make the A Final then put in a huge last race effort to win the title.

1st Heat: A second place behind old rival Alex Davies. Davies had the early lead and Taylor never gave up, attacking in every lap. He went a bit wide at the end of lap 2 allowing Davies the space to keep ahead for the win.

2nd Heat: A come from behind win. Mason Campton led for the first lap with Taylor all over the back of him. At the start of lap two Campton took the wide line out of the turn and Taylor zipped underneath to take the lead and hold on for the win.

3rd Heat: A hard fought win defending against Justin Sedgman all the way. Sedgman would not give up but Taylor was rock steady and opened a little gap late in the race.

4th Heat: From gate 4 Taylor swept around the outside to lead all the way for another win.

5th Heat: In red Taylor was shuffled back to third behind Sam Masters and Todd Kurtz. By lap 2 he had made it to second place. Masters had too much of a gap to make up so Taylor settled for second.

A Final. A dramatic race. Taylor was joined in the final by Masters, Davies and B Final winner Sedgman. First corner jostling between Masters and Davies allowed Taylor to take the lead. Sedgman moved into third then came flying inside Masters at the start of lap two. Down they went and Masters was excluded.

On the restart Taylor was in third. He passed Davies for second at the end of the back straight, went high then cut back in and rocketed by Sedgman out of turn 4 to take the lead. As in an earlier heat Sedgman pushed and pushed but Taylor kept the lead to win the biggest title so far in his speedway career.

21st January: Australian Solo Championship Round 3
Taylor scored 9 points to make the B Final at Adelaide. He finished fourth in the B Final and 7th overall in the championship.

16th January: Australian Solo Championship Round 2
Taylor made the B Final at Kurri Kurri and scored 14 points.

1st Heat: Taylor won his first race comfortably.

2nd Heat: Second place in his second heat. Taylor had to fight his way from last place, taking second place on the last lap.

3rd Heat: Taylor led most of the race until passed by Davey Watt at the end of lap 3. A diving inside move by Taylor going into turn three on the last lap brought the two of them out side by side racing for the line. Taylor relegated to second by a tyre width.

4th Heat: Another win after taking the lead at the end of lap 1.

5th Heat: Taylor was in last place at the end of lap one, in third place a lap later then second place on lap three. At the start of lap 4 he went high trying to pass but slid off into a DNF.

Taylor qualified for the B Final finishing 3rd behind Davey Watt and Corey Gathercole.

8th January: Australian Solo Championship
Taylor scored 9 points and finished 4th in the B Final in round 1 at Brisbane.

22nd December: NSW Solo Championship
"In the NSW title at Tamworth I was pretty confident before the meeting. It's one of my favourite tracks but I started off pretty poorly finishing with a 3rd behind Tungate and Ringwood. Then I had a win and was leading my 3rd race (I think my hardest race of the night) and got a flat tyre which gave me a DNF.

I won my 4th race and came 2nd behind Kozza Smith in my last one. I was very disappointed but then they told me I was into the B final. I was just hoping all my luck would turn around and it turned out to be one of the best races I've ever been in. It was weird, during the race I was thinking 'wow this is a quality race.' Everyone was swapping positions and going over the line I just managed to get past Alex Davies and beat him by half a wheel.

In the final I had last choice of gates and managed to make a good 1st bend and come out in 1st but Kozza went under me coming into the 3rd bend. I tried and tried to make it back past him but he rode a good race and well deserved winner of the state title. I finished 2nd with fellow Ipswich Witch Rohan Tungate 3rd and Daine Stevens 4th.

Was pretty upset with how close I went but very happy with myself considering what happened.".

13th November: NSW Under 21
Taylor is the 2011 NSW under 21 500cc Solo champion. He qualified for the A final with 3 heat wins. In his two other heats he finished second to two other A Finalists Sam Masters and Alex Davies. Todd Kurtz was the fourth qualifier after winning the B Final. Taylor made a great start from the tapes to lead into the first turns. Sam was all over him but with a couple of laps to go seemed to lose momentum through turns 3 & 4 allowing Taylor to open a gap and hold his lead for the win.
